Digital Producer Jessika Cesilia Perez’s Portfolio

Editorial work for Urban St and Grand Rapids Magazine

As Managing Associate Editor of Urban St magazine, Jessika Cesilia Perez led a team of freelance creatives—fellow local writers and photographers—to capture the lakeshore’s cultural and business growth from late 2023 to mid 2024. As a lifelong lakeshore native with a journalism background, JCP curated, edited, and provided both written work and photography for non-advertisement spreads in the digitally and locally published magazine by HOUR/Gemini Media, LLC.

You can find Jessika Cesilia Perez and other Urban St contributors’ work crossposted in Grand Rapids Magazine online and print editions. Interested in contracting or hiring me for your editorial project? Send a message via email.

Watch Jessika Cesilia interview artist-friend Jonica Stinebower about her 2018 Art Prize photography entry. Project coordinated by WKTV Community Media.

Invited to collaborate on this spontaneous project, I enjoyed the open interview and inviting, private atmosphere provided by WKTV Community Media’s “Voices” van venture.

Shot and edited by WKTV.

Which software do you use?

I grew up using MS Paint, Gimp, and Windows Movie Maker. Nowadays I use what everyone else is using.: starts with an A and ends with Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.)

What are your rates?

Message me with your project, budget, and I’ll let you know if my schedule works out. You can view my Fiverr profile (“Jessika C”) for an estimate of freelance writing projects. Individual articles start at over $130.

What’s your turnaround time?

Dependent on the project.

Do you use AI? What’s your stance on its usage as an artist/editor/writer?

As a strong believer in paying artists and all types of freelancers for their work, I do not work or consult with, nor advocate for “AI” (any artificial intelligence software) usage over human driven creative and/or otherwise income-sourcing work. Tools should never replace human creativity, much less facilitate the undermining, corruption, or theft of existing creatives’ intelligent, digital, and print or other physical work.

NSFW inquiries are not being entertained at this time. Unless your script is really, REALLY good, then let’s do the dramatic podcast, babyy.
